The May Update
Greetings friends of Easy Does It, here is everything new in May,
Our favorite time of year is almost here. We are a week from a summer filled with events, community outreach, and our 30th anniversary celebration, which will be a free BBQ at San Pablo Park on June 28, starting at 12 PM . This month, we will be collaborating with Berkeley Ready on a virtual Disaster Preparedness Workshop. In June we will be at multiple resource fairs with the Oakland Housing Authority, the USOAC’s Annual Convention, and of course Juneteenth. We could not be more excited to celebrate 30 years of helping our clients live as they choose in their own homes.
The Easy Does it Day Menu is out Now

On June 28, we will celebrate an incredibly special occasion, our 30th anniversary. In honor of this important milestone, we will be hosting a free BBQ for the disability and Senior communities, which we serve. We will have Premium Burgers, Hot Dogs, Ribs, Chicken, Hot Links, and multiple Vegetarian options; all freshly prepared by our Team. We will also be playing a short game of Bingo to be available for an exciting new activity as well as live entertainment, which will be announced as we get closer to the event. Visit our website to get your free tickets now and be sure to reach out to our Team if you need help reserving your ticket.

If you are one of our Berkeley Clients, you have the option of requesting free transportation both to and from the event, just let our dispatchers know you would like to reserve an Easy Does it Day Ride. Clients also have the option to test an early version of our online booking system, and its effectiveness will determine if we attempt to implement this bookings system for all of our service calls. So be sure to give it a go and provide feedback if you would like to see us implement this feature in the not-too-distant future.

Just before kicking off our 30th Summer of Outreach, we are thrilled to be kicking off a series of online workshops with our friends at Berkeley Ready! Their agency exists to ensure that all Berkeley Residents have the knowledge and resources needed to stay safe during natural disasters or emergency situations. They also ensure that Easy Does It has the resources needed to continue operating during a natural disaster.
In this online series of workshops, their team will walk EDI’s clients through a variety of disaster scenarios and how they can stay safe during them. Be sure to pay close attention to their talks, as attendees will have a chance to win a variety of prizes during the quiz after. Our first workshop on the 30th will focus on how to stay safe during an Earthquake, visit our website to get your unique webinar link.

Our 30th Summer of Outreach
Over the next few months our Team will be getting back out into the Community for our 30th Summer of Outreach! We will be tabling at numerous events throughout the Summer to get the word out about our Wheelchair Rescue and Expanded Wheelchair Repair Services. We would like to connect with our supporters and hook everyone up with this year’s collection of Easy Does It Merch. Here are just a few of the events we look forward to tabling in June.
Oakland Housing Authority’s Resource Fair & BBQ

We’re thrilled to once again be tabling at The Oakland Housing Authority’s third annual Resource Fair and BBQ. Every year, the Oakland Housing Authority puts together multiple events where their residents can learn about the wealth of resources available to them in Alameda County; we cannot wait to connect them with our Wheelchair Resue and newly expanded Wheelchair Repair programs.
USOAC’s Annual Convention

Shortly after, we will be tabling at United Seniors of Oakland and Alameda County’s Annual Convention. The USOAC provides resources and advocacy for the county’s aging population and their annual convention is an opportunity to reflect on their accomplishments before the Healthy Living Festival. It is also an opportunity to learn about our services and pick up some free EDI merchandise.
Berkeley’s Juneteenth Festival

Every year The City of Berkeley commemorates Juneteenth with a street festival right in front of our main offices. Our team loves spending the day celebrating emancipation on Adeline with the Community we serve. We are looking forward to seeing many new and familiar faces, while connecting them with our safety net services.
