We Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay: Disability Pride Month 2025

This July, Easy Does It Emergency Services proudly celebrates Disability Pride Month with deep reflection, joy, and an unwavering call to action. This year’s theme, “We Belong Here and We’re Here to Stay,” is more than a slogan—it’s a powerful affirmation of identity, dignity, and presence.

For 30 years, Easy Does It has stood alongside the disability community in Berkeley and beyond, providing 24/7 emergency support services grounded in the belief that disability supports are a right, not a luxury. From emergency attendant care to wheelchair repair, our work has always centered on the principle that true independence is rooted in reliable, inclusive systems of care.

This month, we elevate the voices of those too often unheard—disabled people of color, queer and trans disabled folks, and those at the intersections of marginalization. We honor the trailblazers who paved the way for disability justice and the emerging leaders who remind us that liberation is a collective journey.

Disability Pride is not about overcoming impairments—it’s about rejecting shame, confronting ableism, and asserting unapologetic pride in who we are. It’s about community, culture, creativity, and celebration. And at Easy Does It, it’s about the real, daily work of ensuring that every person with a disability knows: you do belong here—and we will always fight to ensure you have the support and freedom to live fully, safely, and with dignity.

We’re here. We’re not going anywhere. And we’re building a world where everyone is included.
