Welcome to June, Friends of Easy Does It,
We’re amid our biggest month of the year regarding events. Three of the four weekends in June are home to events our team is very excited to be at. We’ve been hard at work improving Easy Does It since the new year began, so it’s nice to be able to switch gears and celebrate.
Join us for our Easy Does It Day Celebration
In 2005, Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates declared June 28th Easy Does It Day - an official city holiday to celebrate EDI’s tenth anniversary. EDI hosted a BBQ for our Board and the community to commemorate the occasion. This year, we are delighted that Easy Does It Day will again be a reason to celebrate. We’re partnering with the Berkeley Senior Centers to host a free lunch and Bingo Match with many exciting prizes. This will occur on Wednesday the 28th from 11 am – 2 pm.
Register to AttendAnnual Re-Registration is Approaching
July is approaching again, meaning all our existing clients must re-register to continue using our services. It is vital that Easy Does It has up-to-date contact information so that we can provide you with updates regarding your account. So be prepared to provide our dispatchers with your information when you call for service next month.
Seeking Private Pay Attendants
Our new Case Managers are hard at work improving the resources Easy Does It can offer its clients regarding full-time care. We are focusing on bolstering our database of attendants looking for work. If you or someone you know works as an attendant and is interested in taking on additional clients, we encourage you to add your name to our list; upon reviewing your application, we will reach out to you whenever one of our clients is looking to hire.
Become a PCAEasy Does It at the Berkeley Juneteenth Celebration
We just wrapped up tabling at one of our favorite annual events, Juneteenth! This holiday celebrates the emancipation of African Americans; every year, Adeline is filled with food, vendors, and family-friendly activities. Best of all, it was our first Juneteenth with our latest Outreach Booth.
This year, we decided to do away with an emphasis on flyers and instead stocked up on free treats and activities for our community. Thanks to our repair team’s efforts, clients could stop by and charge their power chairs while enjoying free snacks, Wi-Fi, and entertainment. People that were unfamiliar with Easy Does It and Wheelchair repair got to explore how a power chair works at our new wheelchair teardown exhibit.
