Services

Founded in 1995, we provide essential safety-net services that empower seniors and people with severe physical disabilities to live life on their terms. Whether it’s assistance from a fall, urgently needed help around the house, a wheelchair breakdown, or getting to the store, EDI is here to support independence at home and in the community.

In-Home Care

Emergency Attendant Care

Serving Berkeley Residents

Our emergency attendants are on standby to step in and assist Berkeley residents with severe physical disabilities who have an urgent need for assistance due to an unforeseen crisis or disruption in their regular in-home care support system.

Male and Female Attendants

We strive to have both a male and female caregiver available at all times and we will always try to accommodate requests for an attendant of a specific gender. However, due to contractual requirements and variable staffing we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet these requests.

Wheelchair & Assistive Device Repair

Emergency Equipment Repair

Serving Berkeley Residents

Our repair technicians are qualified to diagnose and resolve various issues with wheelchairs, scooters, and a wide range of assistive devices. We use donated parts to keep the service affordable and have a limited supply of wheelchairs and other devices to loan while equipment is being repaired.

Wheelchair Repair

Our Repair Technicians are equipped to take on many issues keeping assistive devices from working correctly.

  • Battery Replacement
  • Joystick/Controller Replacement
  • Chair Adjustments
  • Controller Troubleshooting/Replacement
  • Flat Tires

Donated/Refurbished Parts

Excludes Batteries

The parts needed to service much of the equipment we work on are prohibitively expensive or no longer being made. We maintain a collection of donated and refurbished parts that are provided, free of charge to our clients, for the repairs completed by Easy Does It Repair Technicians. We cannot guarantee we'll have what is needed to repair your specific device. If it's a dead battery, only a new battery will fix the issue.

Equipment Loans

While our Repair Technicians are working on your equipment, you still need to remain mobile. Therefore, we have an ever-changing collection of loaner wheelchairs and other devices to meet short-term equipment needs. Subject to availability, loaner equipment is provided to our clients free of charge as long as it is returned free of damage and in working order.

Hours of Operation
