Happy March, Friends of Easy Does It!
Our whole team has been busy realizing new goals for our agency. At the same time, we are continuing to provide quality care and repairs for our clients. Our new repair techs, Rick and Levan, have been especially busy getting acquainted with the repair shop and the needs of our clients.
This month, I have several upcoming events to share with you as well as significant changes to our Repair Shop and IT infrastructure. Finally, like many others, we were shaken by the sudden passing of Judy Heumann, and we would like to recognize her timeless contributions to the fight for disability rights.
First Hybrid Community Meeting of 2023

Twice a year, Easy Does It hosts Community Meetings. These events offer our clients the opportunity to tell us firsthand how the quality of our service has affected them. In 2023, we are excited to be hosting our first hybrid meeting since 2020, and we hope to see you there. We encourage you to register to ensure we have enough space at Ed Roberts for in-person attendees. Remote attendees must register in advance to receive a link to the meeting.
Register to AttendWelcoming back, Rose. Our new Independent Living Resources Coordinator.

We’ are happy to welcome Rose Acampora as our new Independent Living Resources Coordinator. Given her long history with our agency, she is more than ready to dive into helping our clients find, manage, and retain full-time care. Our goal is to connect clients with full and part-time attendants who can ensure they always have access to the support they need.
Accessibility Awareness Day at Chabot College

We look forward to attending Chabot College’s Accessibility Awareness Day, made possible by their ACE program, which was created to connect students with resources that ensure they can excel academically. We will be there for the entirety of the event to tell students about our services and our FASTER program, which offers free roadside assistance for wheelchair users throughout most of Alameda County.
Learn MoreAn Even Better Repair Shop
Our new Repair Program Manager, Levan, is wasting no time when it comes to excelling at his new role here. After quickly acclimating to our existing procedures and workshop, he is already finding ways to improve its operations. Levan is currently working on modernizing our repair tracking procedures with an accurate inventory of donated parts and online case management for clients.
We look forward to seeing his vision for EDI’s repair program continue to come to life.
New and Improved IT Infrastructure
I’ve been hard at work addressing community concerns to ensure everyone who knows about Easy Does It continues to feel confident using our services. One of the community’s concerns involves upgrading EDI’s IT Infrastructure to ensure that we can do business efficiently and, more importantly, ensure our client’s personal information remains safe and secure.
I am excited to announce that we will be purchasing the necessary equipment and begin rolling out software solutions generously donated by Microsoft. These updates will further bolster our security practices and ensure that all data our agency collects is stored and transmitted securely. By the end of the month, all EDI devices will have been updated to run the new software.
Remembering Judy Heumann

On March 4th, our community lost an icon. We were all shaken by the news. Judy’s commitment to the disability rights movement was unrivaled. Easy Does It and everyone connected to this movement owes her a great deal. To show our appreciation for her work, we’ll be featuring stories about her life on our website through the end of the month.
View Judy's MemorialDespite the untimely passing of Judy. March has been a thrilling time for us all at Easy Does It: new faces, new projects, and an agency-wide recommitment to those we serve. We look forward to sharing additional work and accomplishments with you all soon. Thanks for your continued support of Easy Does It Emergency Services. Till next month.
