The November Update
Hello there, friends of Easy Does It. Here is everything there is to share about our agency in November,
It’s once again time for Giving Tuesday, an opportunity to support the nonprofits making a difference in your community. We hope you’ll consider supporting us this year. We’re also pleased to announce the launch date for our social network for caregivers and their clients. As well as updates regarding a new volunteer repair tech, Darius, our Winter Ad Campaign and our new storefront signage.
Can we count on your support for Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday happens every year shortly after Black Friday and is an opportunity for us to give back to the nonprofits that give their services to our community daily. Although the majority of our work is funded through local property taxes and grants, we rely on the community’s support to do even more for the severely physically disabled persons whom we serve. We hope that you will make a donation to Easy Does It on December 3rd for Giving Tuesday.
Make a DonationHappy Thanksgiving from all of us at Easy Does It
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we at Easy Does It Emergency Services want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. May your holiday be filled with joy, gratitude, and cherished moments with family and friends. We are thankful for your continued support and dedication to our community. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
Although our offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, our team will remain on call throughout the day should you require service.
Easy Does It’s Caregiver Connection
Launching in 2025
Over the Summer, we mentioned our desire to explore the creation of a social network for Caregivers and their clients, to make it easy for anyone to find care regardless of whether they’re a Berkley Resident. We’re pleased to announce that our social network, The Easy Does It Caregiver Connection, is almost ready to launch a public beta. We’ll open the website for anyone to access at the start of 2025. We hope this new resource makes finding and maintaining quality personal care givers easier.
Private Beta AccessVolunteering as a Power Chair Hacker
We’re pleased to welcome an intern, Darius, to our wheelchair repair team. Darius is an engineer who has opted to donate his time to Easy Does It. He hopes to utilize his skillset to make our donated parts collection even more useful. His first project involves developing a custom Joystick Controller that would allow us to install joysticks on chairs that they were never intended to function on. This would ensure that we can supply clients with replacement joysticks regardless of whether or not the brand they require is in stock. We’re very thankful for Darius’ efforts to improve the resources we can offer our repair clients.
Our Winter Advertising Campaign
With the Summer of Outreach having come to a close, we need new ways to keep spreading the word about our work. Which is why we’re running a highly targeted ad campaign to continue to reach potential clients. Thanks to the Alameda County Transportation Commission, we are able to purchase Ad Space inside AC Transit bus routes in our Oakland service area. Given that most breakdowns occur within a couple blocks of a bus stop, we believe this will connect plenty of individuals with our free Wheelchair Rescue rides service.
We’re also once again running display/video ads on Facebook and the Google Ads Network. These ads will be served specifically to viewers who live in our service area and appear interested in paratransit while browsing Google or Facebook.
Tabling at both Alameda County’s Emergency Preparedness Day and Emeryville’s Harvest Festival
Thanks to our neighbor, ACC Printers, we have finished our work on publicly branding Easy Does It’s storefront on Adeline. The new sign ties the whole piece together, although the billboards and photos look nice, our logo was intentionally left off them to avoid too much repetition. Even though our offices are closed to public visits, the signage does a great job educating pedestrians on Adeline about the important work we’re doing for the community.
