The December Update
News Post

It’s that time of year once again. On top of being able to spend quality time with friends and family, there’s a whole lot more to be excited about, given the season. Although the latest Covid variants are presenting a threat, and the flu is making a resurgence, we’re a lot better off than we were last year.
We may be heading into another year where protecting ourselves from Covid-19 remains an aspect of our lives, but at this point, we’re all veterans of navigating the pandemic. We know what to do to stay safe, and if we get sick, there are far more treatment options available. So, stay safe, stay up to date on your vaccines, and happy holidays.
Thank You for Your Support
As we approach the end of 2022, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing dedication to the Mission of Easy Does It. And to ask you to please consider donating to support our work providing safety net services that keep people independent. Your financial gift is an essential part of the safety net.
Consider us in your estate planning
Since grants and client co-pays cover only part of EDI’s expenses, we sincerely thank those who have remembered us in their will. If you or your family is in a position to join in this kindhearted tradition, please consider EDI when doing estate planning. Your thoughtfulness today will help assure we are here for the disabled and senior community tomorrow.

One Year at Easy Does It
On a more personal note, I’ve now been serving as Easy Does Its Outreach Coordinator for a little over a year now. My role requires me to wear many hats, and there’s none I appreciate more than Designer. I dedicated 2022 to a rebranding of the agency to make engaging with EDI easier and more accessible, with the new website being our most important destination for both new and existing clients.
Now that a solid foundation has been established, I plan to continue striving to improve how our existing clients interact with us online and find innovative ways to reach new clients. This work will ensure that everyone who can benefit from our services is aware of them and raise awareness of independent living in general.
Check out our Ad at the DMV
The first piece of our outreach efforts for 2023 to go out is an ad made possible by the DMV’s Motor Vehicle Network. FASTER (Fast, Accessible, Safe, Transportation, & Equipment Repair) is a free roadside assistance service for wheelchair and mobility device users throughout parts of Alameda County. Generously funded by the Alameda County Transportation Commission, FASTER is available between the hours of 9 am and 11 pm, seven days a week, to help individuals when their wheelchair, scooter, or other mobility device breaks down. FASTER technicians can help troubleshoot broken devices over the phone, meet for on-site repairs, and make sure individuals get home safely.
To spread the word, we identified the Claremont DMV as a great place to reach potential users. Our ad will be running there regularly for the next year, and we’re excited to serve all the new clients it stands to reach.
