  • Position: Temporary Outreach Coordinator
  • Hours:  20 hours/week, Flexible hours, occasional weekends and evenings required
  • Salary: $15.00/hour, non-exempt
  • Supervisor:  Executive Director with Program Director as the point of contact

Background of the Organization

Easy Does It Emergency Services is a 501c(3) that provides assistance to individuals with disabilities and the elderly with disabilities living independently in the City of Berkeley. Should a disabled or elderly person experience an unforeseen crisis or a temporary lapse in his or her own regular care, that person can call upon Easy Does It for assistance at the time of need. Job Description

The ideal candidate will provide outreach and disseminate information promoting Easy Does It Services to general public and specifically focusing on people with disabilities and seniors who can use our services. The outreach coordinator will coordinate with staff to develop an outreach plan. They will interact professionally with other staff at all times. This position interacts with the public on an ongoing basis and should be willing to work weekends and evenings as needed. You should be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important.


  1. Develop outreach materials including info packets, brochures and flyers
  2. Be courteous and professional while interfacing with public in person and on phone
  3. Attend outreach events and promote all Easy Does It programs
  4. Assist with mailings and maintain outreach mailing list
  5. Set up and break down outreach events
  6. Provide back-up office assistance including answering phones, receiving visitors and general office support
  7. Collaborate with other agencies and individuals on outreach and program development
  8. Supervise and manage volunteers as needed
  9. Maintain accurate records on outreach events
  10. Turn in all paperwork on time and accurate including timesheets
  11. Follow all Easy Does It policies and procedures
  12. Other Administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  1. At least one year experience in an office environment with a high level of professionalism
  2. Computer proficiency in PC usage and Microsoft Office applications, and Google docs. Knowledge and use of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator a plus
  3. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and composition
  4. Ability to work both independently and with others as part of a team
  5. Very organized with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  6. Acute attention to detail
  7. Multi-tasking and initiative; MUST be a self-starter
  8. Ability to process basic numerical calculations
  9. Sensitive to disability and personal care concerns and issues
  10. Ability to revise/create office forms
  11. MUST maintain confidentiality of all inter-office information
  12. Regular and consistent on-time attendance
  13. Ability to remain fragrance-free

Highly Desired Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of the Disability and Independent Living Movement
  2. Knowledge of disability and personal care concerns and issues
  3. Experience in a non-profit setting
  4. Language proficiency in non-English languages
