We're a Berkeley-based non-profit that provides affordable safety net services to Seniors and People with Disabilities, empowering them to live independently in their own homes. We offer 24/7 Emergency Attendant Care, private pay attendant matching, accessible transportation, affordable wheelchair repair, and free roadside assistance for wheelchair users.

Our emergency attendants are on standby to step in to assist Berkeley residents with severe physical disabilities who have an unforeseen crisis or disruption in their regular in-home care support system. Our experienced and qualified staff provide assistance with urgent activities of daily living when no other caregiver is available.
Attendant Matching
Serving Berkeley Residents
Our Case Managers assist Berkeley Residents with severe physical disabilities to find and maintain quality in-home care workers, build skills, and rely on Easy Does It emergency services as little as possible. We provide referrals to community services and maintain a list of disability-related resources.

Wheelchair Roadside Assistance
Serving Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Emeryville, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and Oakland
Fast, Accessible, Safe, Emergency Transportation Equipment Repair (FASTER) connects you to one of our qualified repair technicians who will help troubleshoot your broken mobility device over the phone, meet you at your location, and attempt basic repairs. If needed, we will take you and your device to a safe location in one of our wheelchair-lift vans.

Our repair technicians are qualified to diagnose and resolve various issues with wheelchairs, scooters, and a wide range of assistive devices. We use donated parts to keep the service affordable and have a limited supply of wheelchairs and other devices to loan while equipment is being repaired.

Serving Berkeley Residents
Berkeley residents who qualify for Wheelchair-van Program Vouchers through the City of Berkeley Rides for Seniors and the Disabled (BRSD) can take advantage of this service for non-emergency transit needs. Users can get rides to medical appointments, stores, or other destinations in and around Berkeley.

Our drivers respond to urgent unplanned transportation needs. We will get you home when a ride falls through or your wheelchair battery runs out of power. If you need to get to a last-minute medical appointment or to the store to pick up medication, Easy Does It is available when no other transportation is available.

Getting enrolled is easy if you want to start using our Services to enhance your living situation. We accept online applications as well as over the phone. You'll need to fill out a short form to verify your eligibility; we'll send you a complete application if approved.

Hello, friends of Easy Does It; here’s everything we have to share for November, the Holidays are quickly approaching, and the weather is finally calming down. After a hectic summer, we’re excited to celebrate this Holiday season with our friends and family. We are also working to improve our Website and social media presence while filling our calendar with some community events and activities. This month, on Tuesday, November 28, we’ll host an online give-a-thon for Giving Tuesday. On December 2, we’ll be tabling at the Downtown Berkeley Farmers Market. We’re also pleased to share that our emergency attendants are taking an in-person training program to refresh and improve their quality service skills. In addition, The CIL has launched a brand new website and an attendant registry.

The Ecology Center Farmers’ Markets are open-air marketplaces where California farmers bring fresh, locally-grown produce and farm-processed foods to sell directly to consumers. We'll be returning to the Downtown Market to spread the word about how we help Seniors and People with Disabilities Live Independently.
